How do I / my company become a member of the British-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce?

What are the different types of membership and where can I find out which category I should apply membership for?

How do I find out if the company I work for is already a member of the British-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce?
You can find an up to date list of all the represented companies here.
How long does my membership last for?
Our memberships run throughout the calendar year from January to December.
How do I know when it is time to renew my membership?
The Chamber will issue proforma invoices when it is time for membership renewal.
What do I do if I want to discontinue my membership?
If you don’t wish to renew your membership you have to let us know by 31.12. by sending an e-mail or by using the online cancellation form.
The company I work for is a Corporate or Partner member of the Chamber. Does that mean that I am a member too and can attend events at no charge?
My company is a chamber member and wants to host an event, what do we do next?
We would be happy to meet with you to discuss topic, format, objectives etc. Please go to our Sponsorships page for more information.
Is it possible to upgrade to a different membership category during the year?
Yes, get in touch with us and we will issue you with an invoice covering the difference in membership fees.
How many events do you host per year and are they all in Oslo?
We host business events regularly, usually one or two each month. Besides Oslo, we are also active in Stavanger.
How do I register to attend events?
You can find event invitations on our website. Open the invitation for the event you want to attend and you will find an online registration link.
I want to find suppliers and distributers for my products. Can the Chamber help me?
We will be happy to, provided we have relevant companies in our membership base. UK Trade & Investment is also an excellent resource you may wish to make use of.
Are events only in Norwegian?
All events are held in English.
Can I attend events without being a member of the Chamber?
Events are for members only, but if you would like to attend as a guest and get an impression of the Chamber, please contact us and we will try to accommodate you!
Can I bring friends and colleagues to events?
Yes, members can bring friends and colleagues to events.
My company is not a member of the Chamber but we want to host an event. Is this possible?
Yes, although member companies will naturally be given priority. Please contact us to discuss.
What advertising and marketing opportunities does the Chamber offer to member companies?

Where can I find a list of companies in Norway?
The Brønnøysund Register Centre covers nearly 400,000 business enterprises. The register is similar to Company’s House in the UK.
Where can I find a list of Norwegian companies in the UK?
Our sister Chamber, The Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce compiles an annual Trade Directory of all its member companies.

Where can I find information about relevant jobs within Norway's English speaking business community?
Our regular events represent an excellent platform to develop your network of business contacts - many of the most interesting positions are filled this way! We also advertise job opportunities in member companies on our website and in our e-newsletters. If you are a student or recent graduate, make sure to attend one of our Career Fairs to find your potential employer.
How do I advertise a job position on your webpages?

How do I sign up to your mailing list?
Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org stating subscribe and you will be added to our list.
How do I unsubscribe from your mail list?
You can send us an e-mail stating unsubscribe. We will then remove your e-mail from our records.
