**In earlier years the costs associated with holding our Christmas reception have been entirely subsidised by cash sponsorship from our partners. It has been increasingly difficult to maintain this funding model and we fully support our partner companies in prioritising support for events which are strategically important for their business areas. Given the social nature of the event we hope members agree that it is correct and appropriate to fund the main event costs through guest contributions.
Advance payment at registration also gives us a degree of predictability with turn-out, which is an immense help for planning catering and fulfilling the strict security requirements of the ambassador's residence as a venue.
