His Majesty’s Ambassador to Norway Jan Thompson and the British-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce will host an industry roundtable discussion to coincide with the visit to Oslo of Nick Pickard, Europe Director at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), on Monday 1 September at 13:30-14:30 at the British Ambassador’s Residence (Drammensveien 79, 0271 Oslo).
The theme for the discussion will be economic opportunities that exist between the UK and Norway, particularly across the two strategically important areas of energy and the green transition, and defence and security.
Nick Pickard would like to engage with industrial stakeholders from Norway to:
- Update the group on the UK’s strategic relationship with the EU and European partners.
- Understand how the group views the UK-EU relationship and its implications for Norway.
- Hear your views about the trade and investment opportunities that exist in your respective sectors, and how they can best be pursued and contribute to economic growth in both countries.
- Understand how government can address any potential challenges that prevent these opportunities from being realised.
Nick Pickard and Ambassador Thompson will co-host this closed event.
